Iwona Cur
Iwona Cur is a printmaker. She does big sized linocuts, all black and white, dealing with inspirations taken from the world of nature. Linocut is a printing technique requiring a great precision and patience but also enabling an artist to create very expressive spaces full of numerous, diverse textures.
The “Memory happens” or “The Art of Memory” project is very special to me. It is crucial not only because of its historical value but also because of its incredible emotional potential. As an inheritor of the European tradition and most of all as a Pole I find myself deeply reflexive about what had happened in the past. Through my artwork I want to express my great hope for respect for all the people and for their handcrafts.
