Art is for me a part of my life and I never question it, so if I have to explain with few words something about it this will be a matter of how sincere one can be.

The structure of my work arises from images stored on the memory where reality and fiction can form free associations, I start from unconscious impulses with the intention to discover that images which have a particular autonomy and could reveal something they conceal, it could be said as well that my pictures have a connection with what we understand for “our life” and this at times includes autobiographical notes, something I think quite common in European art.

Art has been used successfully t make believe all sorts of things and the observations of how some of this things created out of our imagination interact with the real life gives me a wide range of references to explore both human life and art and drawing and painting seems to me still the best way to go about it plus the fact that I love doing it.

In this occasion I have been invited to make a picture, which will be sold, to contribute to preserve the ruins of a church in Berlin and the painting will have a reference to this, been the idea I am told to keep this monument as a symbol of peace.

I have never been in Berlin but I have lots of images in my head, I have seen lots of photos, paintings and films, I have read quite a few books where the plots take place in that city, I have seen enough documents on newspapers and TV. of the real life of Berlin since the war to present day and been this the period of time which coincides with the period of my whole life.

In all this years I have continued to see the images of war all over the world and even now while I write this lines I can watch on the screen of my TV. set from the comfort of my house the terrible images of real war and more ruins to be added to our memory I can see as well images of fictitious wars on games that children can buy for their entertainment.

I do not think very much of great monumental symbols or the way they are used, I place myself and my art with the victims of human stupidity and against the cruel practices of war and the unnecessary suffering they inflict upon the innocents. I am sure there where many of them who lived in and loved Berlin.
